“Masked” by a Girl Named Tucker

I don’t know about you, but I LOVE a good facial.  However, as a mother of three, I’m not always as #blessed with the same spare time that I used to have in my early twenties…which means I have to get creative sometimes when it comes to self-pampering.  Thus began my quest for the perfect at-home mask.

There are quite a few masks in my skin care cabinet, but these are my tried-and-true favorites: Hanacure All-In-One Facial, Peter Thomas Roth Irish Moor Mud Black Purifying Mask, and (a new favorite) Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask

Hanacure – All-In-One Facial Set

I saw an ad for this one on Instagram about two years ago and thought it would be fun to at least try! It’s a breakthrough formula from South Korea that, to me, truly lives up to all the hype.  It really tightens, lifts, and tones your skin, closes your pores, and gives you that “glow” that I, personally, am always aiming for.  I bought “The All-In-One Facial Set” which comes with 4 Lifting Serum ampoules, 4 gelling packs, and 1 brush to apply the mask (you do not want to attempt to use your hands to apply this mask! Trust me!).  So here’s how it works! You open the lifting serum, peel back the corner of the gelling solution pack, and pour all of the contents of the lifting serum container into the gelling solution.  Place your thumb on the corner of the gelling solution pack once you’ve emptied the contents of the lifting serum into that container, and shake!  About 10 seconds later, you’re ready for the brush!  Now, it’s time to apply.  Using the brush, you can apply the gel to your face, neck, and even the back of your hands. This mask gets TIGHT, so make sure to avoid painting the gel on too close to your eyes!!  Leave on for 30 minutes or until the gel completely dries.  I usually will fan my face with a notebook (or anything close by that do the trick) in order to speed up the process a bit.  After about 30 minutes, I use a facial sponge to gently wipe the mask off of my face, and then go along with my usual skin care routine!  I generally do this mask once a week if I have time, or at least 1-2 times a month!

The ONLY downside is that it does, in fact, make me look like I’m a good 70 years older than I am once the mask dries (you’ll see what I mean when you try it!!), so I do this one either when my husband is out of town or when I can hide from him for 30 minutes…because the look on his face when he sees the mask makes me laugh very hard….and, when the mask dries, it makes your face feel so tight that it is a bit uncomfortable to try to laugh!

You can buy this mask on their website @www.hanacure.com

Peter Thomas Roth – Irish Moor Mud Purifying Black Mask

I was searching for a charcoal mask and stumbled upon this one in Sephora a few years ago.  It said “Irish” on the label, and as someone who is almost 40% irish (according to my ancestry dna test, at least), I knew I had to go for it!   It helps to draw toxins and impurities from any congested pores that you may have. Lets just say that I always make sure to never run out of this one.

You leave this mask on for about 10 minutes.  Remove it with a warm, wet washcloth and make sure to remove all of the residue. It always leaves my face feeling very refreshed and hydrated.   As usual, make sure to follow any mask with a good moisturizer!

I generally purchase this mask from Sephora or straight from the Peter Thomas Roth website.

Summer Fridays – Jet Lag Mask

This is the most recent mask that I’ve acquired on my quest for the perfect at-home mask!  I wanted something hydrating and THIS one magically appeared on my instagram feed.  This mask is the first product from this new brand. It was started by two beauty bloggers who wanted a product that would provide “the perfect selfie glow”.  I have only tried it a handful of times since purchasing it last month, but am already a big fan!  Very easy to use, hydrating, and definitely helps acquire that “glow” that we are always searching for!

I also ordered this mask from Sephora!

If anyone has any new mask recommendations, feel free to let me know!!

xoxo
