Fresh Chef – Triple Berry Smoothie

Strawberries, blueberries and cherries are the main ingredients in my Triple Berry Smoothie recipe.  They are powerful superfoods.  Berries are rich in nutrients, antioxidants and phytochemicals which may prevent the effects of aging, cardiovascular disease, arthritis, diabetes, high blood pressure and certain types of cancer.

Berries are also very helpful in relieving inflammation and arthritis symptoms.  Studies in aging animals even show that mixed berries improve cognition and motor performance.

If you are trying to lose weight, you definitely should include more berries in your daily meal plans.  Berries are high in fiber, so they keep you full longer.  They are also low in calories, fat and sugar.

Eating berries daily can also help reduce stubborn belly fat!  Berries contain the antioxidant, anthocyanin which has been reported to increase your metabolism.


Research has shown that berries also effect how glucose is stored and processed in the body and can reduce the risk of heart disease and diabetes.

For optimal health benefits, eat two to three types of berries each day.  An easy way to incorporate more berries is by drinking my “Triple Berry Smoothie” for breakfast a few days a week.
