Cabbage Soup is a great recipe to add to your diet, especially if you are trying to lose weight.  It is low in fat and very high in fiber. Cabbage has about 2.2 grams of fiber per cup. I personally love cabbage soup because it is very filling, low in calories and taste awesome!

Cabbage should be eaten at least once a week to add great benefits to your health and well being.  Here are a few of the many benefits of eating cabbage on a regular basis:

1- Cabbage is an abundant source of Vitamin C, which strengthens your immune system and can prevent many allergies and diseases.

2- The high amount of fiber in cabbage can prevent constipation, which can lower your chances of getting colon cancer.

3- Cabbage contains many antioxidants, which has shown significant reductions in tumors and cancers (especially breast cancer)

4- Cabbage also contains an anti-inflammatory agent ( called anthocyanin) which reduces joint pain and muscle aches.

5- You can also expect to improve your vision by eating healthy amounts of cabbage, because it is very high in beta-carotene.

6- Eating cabbage soup on a regular basis can help you lose unwanted fat and pounds.  You will release excess fluids and water weight.

7- Because cabbage is very high in vitamin K, it can also improve your brain health.

8- Due to the high amounts of minerals in cabbage such as Calcium, Magnesium and Potassium it can also strengthen and improve your bone health.

9- Cabbage can help regulate your blood pressure, due to its presence of potassium.

10 – It also Improves Skin Health and helps promote more youthful looking skin. (due to its high content of vitamin C)

Cabbage acts as a good detoxifier too, meaning that it can also help purify your blood and remove toxins, primarily free radicals and uric acid which are the main causes of rheumatism, gout, arthritis, skin diseases and eczema.  I personally like to eat cabbage soup at least twice a week.  Give it a try and let me know how you like it.
